The Chinese National Influenza Center (CNIC) is under the jurisdiction of the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention (NIVDC) of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC). In 2005, it became the influenza research group of the State Key Laboratory of Viral Genetic and Engineering. The CNIC is currently staffed with 65 employees, including 2 professors,8 associate professors, 12 assistant professors, and 43 junior titles.　　Functionally, the CNIC is divided into the Group of Laboratory Management, the Group of Bio-Information Technology Supporting, the Group of Influenza Virological Surveillance, the Group of Avian Influenza Virological Surveillance, the Group of Influenza Surveillance Network Management and Epidemiological Surveillance and the Research Group. The Research group is further divided into the Research Team of Pathogenesis and immunology, the Research Team of molecular virology, the Research team of Surveillance Technology development, and the Research team of Vaccines and anti-viral drugs.
